The Municipality of Braga, as a public entity, operates in a wide range of areas, from economic development, sustainability, finance, the local business sector, regional cooperation, international relations, innovation, social cohesion, parishes, sport, youth, health and well-being, associations, citizenship and participation, urban regeneration, heritage, relations with universities, urbanism, planning, zoning, mobility, municipal administration; human resources; management and conservation of municipal equipment; housing; municipal police, management and conservation of public space, innovation and technology, municipal works, civil protection, tourism, consumer protection and education.
In compliance with the principles of transparency and loyalty, we have reinforced our Privacy Policy, in which we describe what Personal Data we collect, for what purposes it is used, the principles that guide this use and the rights that citizens/owners of this data have.

In the event that you request a service that involves the payment of a fee or price, or in the context of the execution of a contract, we collect the data necessary to process the respective payment.

If you visit municipal facilities, your image may be captured by our security cameras. In the context of meetings of municipal bodies, video data may be processed, subject to the express consent of the data subjects.
Voice:
When you contact us, telephone conversations with our employees may be recorded. In the context of meetings of municipal bodies, sound data may be processed, subject to the express consent of the data subjects.
In the case of application templates (available on the institutional website) and electronic forms (available on the Online Services portal), other personal data may be requested that are not identified here, but which have their due framework in a specific legal framework and/or in the Regulatory Code of the Municipality of Braga.
COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
The Personal Data we collect depends on the context of your interactions with MB and MB with you, within the scope of its municipal activity and in fulfillment of its legally assigned duties. The Municipality of Braga uses your Personal Data to respond to your requests, to process your cases, for statistical purposes and to carry out studies to support the definition of municipal public policies.
This data can be provided through a request, communication, complaint, participation and through the service channels provided by the municipality: in person, by telephone or electronically. We also collect the information you provide and the content of the messages you send us, such as comments, suggestions, criticisms or complaints, with a view to constant improvement.
As part of the processing of your personal data, MB safeguards that it will only be accessible to those people in the municipal universe who have a need to know it, in the exercise of their functions and to the strict extent necessary for the pursuit of the purposes for which the personal data was collected, or for purposes compatible with the initial purpose(s).
Some personal data is necessary and, in the event of the absence, insufficiency or inaccuracy of this data, MB may be unable to provide the service in question, and will therefore inform the data subjects of the essential nature of the provision of the data.
Collection and processing of minors’ Personal Data
The Personal Data of minors, the collection and processing of which does not derive from a legal basis or from the exercise of public interest/public authority functions, will only be collected and processed with the consent of the holders of parental responsibilities or guardians. Holders of parental responsibility or guardians have the prerogative to exercise their rights over the Personal Data of minors under similar conditions to those of the data subjects.
2.2 Collection and processing of Special Data
Personal Data may be of a more sensitive nature in certain situations, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) classifies them as “special categories of data”. These may concern, in particular, the racial or ethnic origin of the data subject, their political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or their health (Personal Data relating to the physical or mental health of a natural person, including the provision of health services and/or revealing information about their state of health).
The processing of special categories of data deserves greater protection under the GDPR and is subject to specific technical and organizational safeguards. In this sense, the collection of documentation incorporating special categories of data should only be carried out when such data is essential for the analysis of requests made to MB.

III. DATA PROCESSING
The processing of Personal Data consists of an operation or set of operations carried out on Personal Data or a set of Personal Data, by automated or non-automated means, such as: collection, access, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure, dissemination, comparison, interconnection, limitation, erasure or destruction.
GROUNDS FOR DATA PROCESSING
Under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the use of personal data must be justified by at least one legal basis for the processing of personal data, namely:

MB does not share your data with third parties, except when it is necessary for the pursuit of the purpose requested by the service you have used or in the exercise of public interest/public authority functions, in strict compliance with legal obligations or with your consent.
In the context of recruitment processes, MB may share the data collected with the selection boards (which may be external to CMB).
